Valves are mechanical devices that control the flow rate, direction, pressure, and temperature of flowing fluid media. Valves are fundamental components in pipeline systems. Technically, valve fittings are often discussed as a separate category, similar to pumps. Valves can be operated manually with a handwheel, handle, or pedal, or they can be controlled to change the pressure, temperature, and flow rate of the fluid media. Valves can perform continuous or repetitive operations on these changes, such as safety valves installed in hot water systems or steam boilers. In more complex control systems, automatic control valves are used as needed based on external inputs (i.e., adjusting the continuously changing set points flowing through the pipeline). Automatic control valves do not require manual operation and allow the valve to accurately control the various requirements of the fluid media according to its input and settings. Valves are also classified by materials, including cast iron valves, cast steel valves, stainless steel valves, chrome-molybdenum steel valves, chrome-molybdenum-vanadium steel valves, duplex steel valves, plastic valves, non-standard custom valves, and other valve materials.
Cleaned components must be sealed for storage and ready for installation. The installation process requires the following:
1. The installation workshop must be kept clean, or a temporary clean area should be set up, such as using newly purchased tarpaulin or plastic film, to prevent dust from entering during installation.
2. Assembly workers must wear clean cotton work clothes, wear cotton hats with no hair exposed, wear clean shoes, and wear plastic gloves that are degreased.
3. Assembly tools must undergo degreasing and cleaning before assembly to ensure cleanliness.
