Applications of Press-Fit Valves

Installation of Press-Fit Valves

    Prepare pipes with square-cut, deburred ends within ±0.1mm diameter tolerance. Clean sealing zones with isopropyl alcohol to remove oils/debris. Inspect O-rings for nicks or deformation and verify collet spring tension.

    Insert pipe axially until audible/visual click confirms full engagement. For angled installations, maintain <5° misalignment tolerance. Never lubricate O-rings – apply force only to valve body, not release collars or levers.

    Maintain 2x pipe diameter straight entry for collet grip integrity. Incomplete insertion may cause blow-off under pressure; over-forcing risks O-ring extrusion. Test with 10-minute pressure hold at 1.5x working pressure post-installation to verify zero-leak performance.

Working Principle of Press-Fit Valves

  • Inserting the pipe axially with firm pressure compresses the integrated elastomeric O-ring radially against the pipe surface and valve body, forming an immediate pressure-tight seal. 

  • Simultaneously, the stainless-steel collet fingers snap into position behind the pipe groove, mechanically locking against retraction forces. 

  • Sealing effectiveness relies on elastic O-ring recovery, with system pressure enhancing seal integrity by forcing the O-ring tighter against the sealing interfaces while driving collet teeth deeper into the pipe material.
